Live Brief University Work Completed in group of four, 2021
Client: Torrens Global Education (TGE)
Brief: Create a campaign to increase Academic Integrity awareness across all TGE student cohorts with the aim to reduce incidents of breach of academic integrity by 10% across the Australia and NZ schools, including international students studying remotely abroad.
Rationale: TGE specified that they did not want a campaign that would make students fearful or create negative emotions around making mistakes. Seeking a position of support, prevention, and education above all else rather than highlighting punishment. We took inspiration from notable campaigns including World’s Greatest Shave, Dumb Ways to Die, and other similar, character driven messaging as a vassal for informative content and change management.
The project, completed in a group of four total designers, is comprised of an Augmented Reality scavenger hunt, promotional videos, themed prizes, and full extension online for remote student participation in a one week event.
The App

Core to the event is the extension that I built to the existing TGE mobile application for the special event. It contains the AR game itself as well as being a hub of information and contact details for the rest of the term as an easy way for students to access through University infrastructure that already exists and is being used.
When playing the scavenger hunt, students use their phone camera on campus to find hidden sock puppet characters, once found the character prompts the user with a question relating to academic integrity, when answered correctly the student gains points which are then redeemable for various prizes.
Promotional Videos
To introduce the characters and premise we storyboarded, scripted, and produced three sketch style videos addressing key issues relating to academic integrity that were highlighted in discussions with our TGE clients.
The videos included live action sock puppetry and are titled “Worst Case Scenario”, “Mel asks for an Extension”, and “Life without Assignments”.
Our entire team contributed to prop making, acting, voice recording, and directing. I was responsible for the sock puppet character design, making the sock puppets, and scripting the sketches.
